Material Handler - 1st Shift

Material HandlerThe Material Handler will be responsible for all material handling needs, primarily picking warehouse parts and delivering them to assembly areas to ensure efficient production. Work closely with production lines to ensure full utilization of people, materials, and equipment to meet customer demand. The Material Handler will be required to achieve company standards for Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement (CI), and Productivity.Material Handler I - Minimum Qualifications:0-2 years of experienceFollow and adhere to company policiesHigh level of attention to detail and accuracyAbility to effectively work in a team environmentEffective communication skillsBasic PC knowledgeAbility to identify and resolve basic problemsAbility to perform basic reading, writing, and math functionHigh school diploma or equivalentMaterial Handler II - Minimum qualifications:1-3 years' experienceHigh level of attention to detail and accuracyStrong communication skillsIntermediate PC knowledgeAbility to identify and resolve intermediate problemsAbility to operate all forklift or other equipment to transport materialsAbility to enter/maintain/transact materials in company ERP programMaterial Handler III - Minimum qualifications:2 to 5 years' experienceStrong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to operate all forklift or other equipment to transport materialsAbility to learn and use problem solving tools in everyday workPrevious experience coaching and training other employeesExperience leading and forming teamsPreferred Qualifications:Previous experience and ability to operate a forklift or other equipment to transport materialsAbility to enter/maintain/transact materials in company ERP programEssential Duties:Work under general supervision with well-defined tasks while following company procedures, processes, and policies.Participates in metric boards measuring Safety, Quality, CI, and Productivity and work is reviewed for accuracy.Complete and retain all required trainingMay resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisors depending on the level and complexity. Follows defined procedures and practices.Contacts are typically with immediate supervisor and other members of the team in the immediate organization.Participate in 5S programs that are based on visual control to determine if an area is normal or abnormal. If abnormal, fix the area immediately.Complete forklift daily per procedureGood attendance is expected per policyLevel of Independence: Report to Materials Supervisor and will take direction from the Materials Leads.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
