Cash Application Specialist

Roetzel & Andress LPA, a multi-state law firm with an administrative center in Fairlawn, Ohio, has an immediate opening for a full-time Cash Application Specialist to support the Finance Department. This is an in-office position to be worked in our Fairlawn office. Duties and responsibilities include:

• Applying incoming payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards) to client accounts and invoices in accordance with firm policies and procedures.
• Reconciling daily cash receipts and investigating discrepancies in payment applications.
• Coordinating with the billing department to resolve unapplied or misapplied payments and ensure proper account adjustments.
• Communicating with clients, attorneys, and team members regarding payment details, remittance information, and account status as needed.
• Processing of one-time credit cards mailed by clients and those emailed to accounts receivable.
• Transmittal of checks to bank.
• Processing client account adjustments as needed.
• Identifying and recommending process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of cash application workflows.

Education and experience:

• Must have experience in 3E legal accounting software.
• 2+ years experience in law firm or professional service industry cash application.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel.
• Proficient in data entry and time management.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
