Transplant Surgery

Seeking a Transplant Surgeon to provide recurring hospital-based kidney transplant call coverage. Responsibilities include managing kidney organ offers, performing kidney transplants, providing post-operative care, and rounding on transplant patients.

Compensation: Open rates

Schedule

Start Date: August 31, 2026

Ongoing assignment

One week (Friday–Friday) each month

24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

Approximately 7 shifts per month

Practice Setting

Hospital

Adult patient population

Transplant Surgery service

Responsibilities

Manage kidney organ offers

Perform kidney transplant procedures

Provide post-operative care for transplant patients

Round on hospitalized transplant patients

Evaluate and manage post-transplant complications

Respond within 30 minutes while on call

Practice Details

Adult patients only

Average 2–4 admissions during each weekly coverage block

Average of 3 admissions while on call

Works alongside multidisciplinary specialists including CT Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, ICU Intensivists, and Hospitalists

Kidney Transplant

EMR: Epic, Phoenix.

Requirements

MD or DO

Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery

Completion of an Abdominal Transplant Surgery Fellowship (must be confirmed at presentation)

Active Pennsylvania license (IMLC accepted)

DEA

ACLS and BLS certifications

Minimum of 1 year of experience

Additional Information

Full and temporary privileges available

Estimated credentialing timeframe: 60 days

Travel reimbursement available per facility guidelines.
