Behavioral Health Therapist

Location: Calumet, 235 E 103rd St, Chicago, IL 60628, USA. We are hiring a full‑time Behavioral Health Therapist to join our Calumet office. Salary: The average starting salary will fall in the range of $58,000 to $70,371 annually. Candidates possessing an LCSW or LCPC may be considered for a possible starting salary up to $78,864. Essential Job Functions Performs comprehensive, in‑depth assessments for a variety of program services. Performs intake as assigned. Provides a full range of case management, counseling, therapeutic interventions, advocacy, skill‑building, and related services. Learns and utilizes agency and community resources. Assesses community conditions affecting clients to identify resource gaps and problems. Recommends financial assistance for clients. Provides group services as indicated by program need. May be responsible for meeting contractual requirements such as 24‑hour coverage. Represents and interprets agency programs in the community. May serve on regional or agency‑wide committees. Meets agency expectations for quantity of direct service. Complies with agency record‑keeping expectations. Works effectively with diverse staff and service populations. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requires mobility to work with a community‑based caseload. Ability to maintain assigned community and home‑based services. Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups. Qualifications Master's degree in counseling or related field from an accredited college or university – required. Licensed professional counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) – required. 2+ years of experience working in the mental health field with clients across their lifespan – preferred. Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or experience working with clients experiencing substance use – preferred. Additional Requirements Satisfactorily pass all screenings and criminal background checks. Transportation / Travel Requirements Driving for work required with transportation of clients preferred in a personally owned vehicle. Travel between sites not required. Physical Demands While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.
