Position Summary:
The PRN Childcare Provider supports the daily operations of the daycare by providing safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care to children when regular staff are unavailable or when additional coverage is needed. This position works on an on-call or scheduled-as-needed basis and must comply with all KDHE childcare regulations and center policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being
- Assist with daily routines including meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, and rest time
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that support social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment
- Follow all KDHE licensing regulations, safe-sleep guidelines, and center policies
- Use positive guidance and redirection strategies
- Communicate professionally with lead staff and administration regarding childrens needs
- Assist during emergencies and follow established emergency procedures
- Step into classrooms as assigned and adapt quickly to daily routines
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience working with children (preferred but not required)
- Ability to meet KDHE background check and fingerprinting requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and actively supervise children

- Ability to follow instructions and established routines
- Calm, patient, and nurturing demeanor
- Ability to work independently when needed
Work Schedule:
- Hours vary based on staffing needs
- May include mornings, afternoons, or full days
- No guaranteed hours
Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the Director/Owner or Lead Teacher
