BAA is the leading presenter of touring Broadway, with a presence in 47 regional markets. BAA possesses the local marketing rights, secures the performance venue, manages local event production, and sells tickets. Tickets are sold as subscriptions, groups, eCLUB membership and single tickets. The presenting business is supported by its 4 million name database of ticket buyers, including hundreds of thousands of subscribers, across the United States and Canada. BAA also owns or operates five historic theaters in Baltimore, Boston and Minneapolis. The Marketing division of Broadway Across America is seeking a motivated individual to join our in-house creative team on a part-time basis. Duties and Responsibilities Assist with concepting, designing, and/or coding marketing collateral, including: Email, digital display, print, outdoor, video, social media graphics, etc., creating balance between the aesthetic of the show's key artwork and the local brand's identity. Receive feedback from the Director of Creative and/or Senior Graphic Designer, and members of the regional marketing teams and/or productions, and make all necessary changes Prioritizing and managing self-workload to see projects to completion, from concept to finished piece Collaborating with regional marketing teams to support local marketing initiatives with collateral and various creative Competencies Cooperation Establishes and maintains effective relationships Active listener Offers assistance and support to co-workers Work effectively both as an individual or cooperatively in group situations Adaptability Able to work around unexpected changes of circumstance or workload Modifies a planned course of action based on new circumstances Changes communication style to achieve the best results Ability to multi-task and work with strict deadlines Able to future-proof and understandably organize work, files, project layers, etc., for future use by self and others on the team Functional Competencies Basic knowledge of layouts, typography, composition, color, and other graphic design fundamentals Understanding of web and mobile responsive design and concepts Basic experience with HTML coding Strong visual aesthetics Compelling portfolio of graphic design work Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness Qualifications a.k.a. KSAOs Knowledge and proficiency in HTML coding - must have experience coding emails, websites, etc. Knowledge and proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite - must be strongly proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator Knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript, WordPress, and CSS, a plus Motion graphics and video editing experience with proficiency in After Effects and Premiere Pro a plus Education and/or Experience Graphic design work experience - freelance or full/part-time/internship employment - required Undergraduate or associate's degree in graphic design - preferred Communication Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret creative briefs and HTML/CSS code Ability to effectively present information to national and regional marketing team members Critical Thinking Understand, resolve conflict, and create balance between competing priorities of production and local brand identities Solve layout and information design challenges within specifications of requested deliverable Create deliverables with a mind on the accessibility of those assets by audiences with different physical and cognitive abilities Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
