Senior Estimator- Drywall

Responsibilities Handle the project from first estimate through contract formalization. Examine information, ask pertinent questions, and provide a complete drywall cost evaluation. Develop innovative solutions to complex cost, lead‑time, trade partner, and material issues. Deliver reliable cost predictions across all aspects of drywall construction. Prepare detailed conceptual drywall cost estimates and cost studies from schematic or feasibility documentation. Create and update detailed estimates, and develop variance summaries between estimates and value‑engineering studies throughout the design evolution. Compile and present a presentation‑worthy estimate package that clearly communicates the drywall estimate to any audience. Collaborate with the entire project team to determine staffing and project requirements. Understand unit costs and factors that influence construction cost. Prepare detailed bidder instructions, trade‑specific clarifications, and comprehensive bid packages for sub‑tiers. Manage the bidding process: solicit bids, communicate with bidders, evaluate subcontractor proposals, and use bid tally sheets. Work closely with the Operations Team to refine the drywall estimate and ensure alignment with project approach, schedule, and logistics. Recommend subcontractor awards and negotiate/finalize subcontracts with trade partners. Participate in RFP responses and formal project presentations. Engage and develop business with new and existing customers. Lead and facilitate value‑engineering sessions with the project and design teams. Review construction contracts and identify key risks affecting the drywall estimate. Lead, manage, and motivate project teams during the pre‑construction phase. Qualifications Flexible, detail‑oriented team player who can manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and meet deadlines. Excellent listening and strong communication skills. Creative and innovative problem‑solving abilities on a project‑by‑project basis. Ability to identify, adapt to, and resolve complex issues. Effective participation in a team environment with both external and internal teammates. Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software (WinEst or similar), take‑off software (On‑Screen Takeoff or similar), BIM tools (Revit, Assemble, etc.), project management software (CMiC or similar), and scheduling software (Primavera or similar). 3–5 years of experience as a commercial construction estimator, preferably within DPR’s core markets. Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required. A strong work ethic and a “can‑do” attitude. Salary: This position is salaried.
