Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule Shift: 3P-3A. Every third weekend, with mid-shift availability from 10A-10:30P to as late as 1P-1:30A.

Job Description The Emergency Department Registered Nurse will work within a level 2 trauma center environment, providing comprehensive care to patients experiencing emergency medical situations. The nurse will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of patient care, while utilizing advanced trauma and emergency care knowledge.

Responsibilities Deliver patient-centered care in the Emergency Department. Utilize AIDET communication and whiteboards to enhance patient experience. Administer medications and manage treatments as per established protocols. Conduct triage and prioritization of patient care based on severity of condition. Perform procedures associated with a level 2 trauma center.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum 2 years of experience in an Emergency/Trauma nursing role within a level 2 trauma center. Current KS RN license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC (or PALS), TNCC. Preferred: CEN or TCRN. Advanced knowledge of trauma care, STEMI care, stroke care, sepsis, and triage.

Dress Code Cobalt blue top and black or cobalt blue pants. Solid colors and closed toe shoes are required.
