Nurse Extern II

The Nurse Extern II collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our med-surg patients in our advanced facilities that include a primary stroke center and a long-term acute care unit.

Responsibilities

The Nurse Extern role is designed to provide expanded clinical experience for senior professional (RN) nursing students and to assist the Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities, which includes participating in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation, as well as reporting significant observations to a Registered Nurse. In the level II, the Nurse Extern will have a 1:1 preceptorship with a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

Education:

• Required: Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program and successfully entered their senior year in an accredited school of nursing and must pass all senior courses to remain in the program.

Certifications:

• Required: AHA BLS
