Our radiology team at UAB St. Vincent's Blount provides advanced imaging services for the entire hospital, supporting the inpatient, outpatient, surgical, oncology, and emergency care teams. Job Description

Leads assigned staff while performing computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists. Ensures quality imaging, patient care, workflow efficiency, regulatory compliance, and staff development within the CT service.

1. Performs and leads CT imaging procedures; prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
2. Ensures quality in imaging, patient care, and workflow; monitors patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy.
3. Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
4. Observes patients during procedures and reports abnormal activity; supports protocol monitoring and recommends refinements.
5. Oversees quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting of CT
systems.
6. Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images and documentation to PACS.
7. Ensures compliance with radiation safety standards and regulatory agency requirements.
8. Serves as a clinical and technical resource to CT staff and interdisciplinary teams.
9. Performs staff orientation, training, and coaching; provides input to performance evaluations.
10. Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department.
11. Monitors departmental processes to support efficiency and patient throughput.
12. Participates in process improvement and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• ARRT Radiography certification required.
• ARRT(CT) certification preferred for Hospital setting.
• ARRT(CT) required for IDTF (Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility).

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited educational program in Radiologic Technology required.
