Kitchen Utility Staff

Responsibilities:

• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met in all areas of the kitchen, including dishwashing, equipment, floors, and surfaces.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, ensuring efficient and organized dishwashing procedures.
• Assist with food preparation tasks, such as peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients, under the supervision of the kitchen staff.
• Support the kitchen team in organizing and stocking supplies, including food ingredients, cleaning chemicals, and utensils.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen storage area, including proper storage of supplies and equipment.
• Assist with the disposal of waste and recycling, following proper procedures.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations, including assisting with plating and garnishing dishes.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service.
• Take direction from the kitchen manager and contribute to a positive and efficient working environment.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a kitchen utility or similar role is preferred but not required.
• Strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility for cleanliness and organization.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety practices.
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, and carrying.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
