Senior Building Automation Technician (N4 Certification Required)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Automation Technician to join our client's growing team in Austin, TX. This role is ideal for a technically strong building automation professional with hands‑on experience commissioning, troubleshooting, programming, and maintaining Building Automation Systems (BAS) . The successful candidate will have proven expertise with Niagara 4 (N4) and be comfortable working independently on complex commercial building automation projects. You will work closely with customers, engineers, project managers, and field technicians to deliver reliable, high‑performing automation solutions. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, program, commission, and troubleshoot building automation systems. Develop and modify Niagara 4 control logic, graphics, alarms, schedules, and databases. Diagnose and resolve complex BAS, HVAC controls, networking, and communication issues. Perform system start-up, commissioning, functional testing, and point‑to‑point verification. Integrate HVAC equipment, controllers, sensors, meters, and third‑party systems using protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks . Review control drawings, sequences of operation, submittals, and project documentation. Configure and troubleshoot BAS networks and IP‑based communications. Identify system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions and improvements. Provide technical support to customers and junior technicians. Train customers and field personnel on BAS operation and system functionality. Maintain accurate service reports, project documentation, and commissioning records. Travel to customer sites throughout the Austin metropolitan area and occasionally other locations as required. Follow company safety procedures and applicable industry standards. Required Qualifications Current Niagara 4 (N4) Certification is required. 5+ years of experience working with building automation, HVAC controls, or BAS systems. Strong hands‑on experience with Niagara 4 programming and troubleshooting. Solid understanding of HVAC systems, sequences of operation, and commercial building controls. Experience with BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus , and BAS networking. Ability to read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and mechanical plans. #J-18808-Ljbffr Edison Smart®
