Nurse Manager - Long Term Care

RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster effective collaboration with staff, patients, families, physicians, and all members of the healthcare team.

Possesses working knowledge of management systems and processes, with a demonstrated ability to build productive work relationships and guide teams toward achieving organizational objectives.

Applies analytical skills to assess departmental needs, design and implement targeted interventions, and evaluate their effectiveness.

Exhibits core management competencies appropriate to the assigned position, including the ability to manage projects, perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, balance multiple priorities, and model a spirit of teamwork.

Maintains familiarity with DOH requirements and ensures departmental compliance.

Proficient in computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software; experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Meditech preferred.

Holds primary responsibility for implementing strategies that advance uncompromising quality, exceptional patient safety, and an outstanding experience for patients, residents, and families. Intentionally cultivates an environment that promotes staff development, empowerment, collegial relationships, and best practices in nursing care delivery. Allocates resources to ensure efficient, effective, compassionate, and fiscally responsible care. Coordinates care across departments by championing systems that foster interdisciplinary collaboration and communication. Participates in the recruitment, selection, and retention of personnel, and ensures appropriate orientation, education, credentialing, and ongoing professional development for all accountable staff.

Supervises: CNA Trainees, CNAs, Senior CNAs, LPNs, RNs, and Unit Clerks.

Qualifications:

• Must have at least 2 years recent manager experience in a LTC Facility. Experience with Special Needs Unit preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program.
• Current NYS License to practice as a Professional Registered Nurse.
• Two years of Nursing experience or Two years of Long Term Care experience.
  Supervisor or Management experience a plus.
