Job Title: Remote Utilization Management RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Utilization Review Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 3 years in acute medical care management/utilization management performing utilization review in a hospital setting. License: Valid California RN license required. Certifications: Epic and InterQual required. Must-Have: Medicare knowledge, experience with HMO and IPA regulations, and charting systems. Description: This position involves remote utilization management nursing. Candidates must have recent experience with Epic and InterQual within the last 6-12 months. The role involves conducting concurrent reviews, continued stay reviews, pre-certification reviews, and retrospective reviews. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of CMS guidelines and be proficient in determining medical necessity per evidence-based guidelines. Work will involve a variety of service lines and levels of care. Flexibility is required as the team supports multiple facilities and caregivers will rotate between them. Adherence to all labor laws, including lunch and break regulations, is strictly required. Candidates must commit to working a percentage of holiday shifts as specified. The position may require floating between nearby facilities as needed. All work-related communication devices will be provided for the assignment if necessary.
