This role involves performing routine daily care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring a compassionate and supportive environment for patients.

Job Summary

As a Patient Care Technician, you will deliver direct patient care within your licensure scope, including vital sign monitoring, telemetry support, phlebotomy, wound care, and assisting with procedures. You will also help patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and meal assistance, while maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform technical skills like CPR, EKG acquisition, bladder scanning, and dressing application.
• Assist with patient transport, room preparation, and inventory of personal belongings.
• Provide attentive care by anticipating patient needs, responding promptly to call lights, and communicating effectively with patients and families.
• Document patient care data accurately and assist with scheduling tests and procedures.
• Support teamwork by responding to emergency codes, covering breaks, and fostering a positive work atmosphere.
• Maintain infection control standards and safety protocols.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
• One to two years of patient care experience, preferably in acute care settings.
• Telemetry experience is a plus.

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Medical Assistant Phlebotomy certification preferred.

• Strong knowledge of patient care practices and ability to maintain required competencies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a caring and professional demeanor.
• Ability to manage difficult situations while maintaining confidentiality.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and medical telemetry equipment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Work Schedule

This position is a 0.9 FTE night shift role, working 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM within a 40-hour workweek.
