Resident Meal Liaison - Senior Living - Atherton Place

Job Summary Resident Meal Liaison — Senior Living — Atherton Place. The dining room serves three chef‑prepared meals daily, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The role involves meal planning, order entry, tray delivery, and resident advocacy. Work Shift: Day (United States of America). Hours: 7:00am – 6:30pm; Rotate every other weekend: Saturday & Sunday. Responsibilities Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Enter meal preferences within the scope of diet restrictions and deliver meals in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner. Confirm accuracy against resident's meal order and/or confirm the correct tray is delivered to the correct resident. Represent the department in a professional and caring manner; instruct residents in the meal‑ordering process and assume the role of resident advocate. Deliver nutrition supplies to units and/or rooms as ordered. Complete all other assigned job duties. Perform hand hygiene and wear gloves; follow infection prevention practices. Maintain clean, organized work areas; monitor food and equipment temperatures and correct or report out‑of‑range occurrences. Store food and supplies with proper labeling, dating, and rotation. Operate equipment safely and report unsafe conditions. Use IT equipment appropriately and protect confidential information. Ensures Positive Service Outcomes: Follow the department work schedule (including weekends and holidays) and arrive at the workstation before task start time. Set up, maintain, and break down workstation according to area requirements. Follow written and verbal instructions and station responsibilities accurately. Complete area checklists and forms as assigned. Operate and care for equipment according to manufacturer and area guidelines. Remain flexible to support other team members across the department. Assist residents with menu selections and enter orders accurately and promptly. Verify resident satisfaction with meals and conduct internal satisfaction surveys. Deliver meals that meet cultural, spiritual, ethnic, and age‑specific considerations. Obtain additional items for trays, seek approval for non‑compliant meal requests, and retrieve dirty trays. Perform other department duties including dishroom work, rolling silverware, floor stock replenishment, requisitions, and general clean‑up. Resolve customer service issues and, if needed, use judgment to involve the supervisor. Engages in Efforts to Create a World‑Class Work Environment: Follow uniform specifications (clothing and shoes neat and clean). Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet departmental goals. Communicate respectfully and concisely. Respect cultural traditions of team members and residents. Maintain competency in nutrition service software. Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and the code of conduct. Qualifications Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Minimum Experience: Senior Living or hospital food‑service experience; customer service experience highly preferred. Minimum Skills: Outstanding interpersonal skills; basic knowledge of modified diets; adequate phone skills for resident interaction; proficiency in English (written and oral); positive attitude in all interactions.
