Kiddoos Kids Salon – Lewisville, TX
Part-time Available
$14 -$28 per hour (base pay + commission + tips)

Do you love making kids smile? Kiddoos Kids Salon is growing and we’re looking for a friendly, reliable  licensed cosmetologist / hair stylist to join our team.

This is not a typical salon job. We specialize in children’s haircuts, first haircuts, braids, fun styles, and creating a positive experience for families.

Pay Structure

• Base pay: $14–$18/hour (based on experience)
• Plus commission on services
• Plus retail commission
• Plus tips
• Top performers can earn $25–$28+/hour with commission and tips.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert hair styling services tailored specifically for children, including cuts, trims, braids, and creative styles
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness according to industry regulations and store policies
• Use salon software such as MINDBODY to schedule appointments, track client preferences, and manage retail sales effectively
• Educate clients on hair care routines, hair coloring options, and the use of hair extensions or threading techniques when appropriate
• Engage with young clients and their parents through friendly communication to ensure a positive experience and build lasting relationships
• Upsell retail products like hair care items or styling tools to enhance client satisfaction and increase store revenue
• Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in barbering, hair coloring, or styling to foster team growth and skill development

Skills

• Proficiency with salon software systems such as MINDBODY for appointment management and retail tracking
• Strong knowledge of hair care practices, including sanitation standards and cosmetology licensing requirements
• Experience working in the beauty industry with skills in hair styling, coloring, extensions, threading, or barbering
• Excellent communication skills to connect with children and their families effectively
• Ability to perform precise haircuts using tools like straight razors while maintaining safety protocols
• Familiarity with retail math and upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
• Passion for mentoring team members in advanced techniques such as color theory or store management practices

Qualifications

• Active Texas Cosmetology License
• Ability to perform quality haircuts efficiently
• Friendly, professional communication skills
• Comfortable working with children of all ages
• Weekend availability is a plus
