At Clinton Manor Living Center, their mission is to passionately support each person in living a meaningful and satisfying life!Clinton Manor provides long-term care with skilled nursing that accommodates seniors or individuals with high medical needs. A team of highly-skilled RN's, LPN's and Certified Nurse Assistants support residents recuperating from surgery, stroke or illness. Clinton Manor also specializes in assisting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Direct Support Professionals (also known as DSPs) provide hands-on, person-centered, direct care for individuals with developmental disabilities whom reside with us.We have now extended out therapy department and looking to find quality candidates to fill supporting roles within this department.The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapy interventions that help residents in a skilled nursing facility improve their function and independence in daily activities.1 PT: hours will be 16-24 hours a week.1 PRN: fill in as neededClinton Manor's full benefits listing: -list/ Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans and functional goals for residentsProvide therapeutic interventions to improve strength, range of motion, coordination, and activities-of-daily-living {AOL) performanceAssist residents with self-care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming as part of skilled therapeutic trainingCollect and report data on resident response to treatment to the supervising Occupational TherapistCommunicate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team regarding therapy progressMaintain accurate, timely documentation of therapy services in accordance with facility and payer requirementsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environmentParticipate in continuing education and professional development activities required to maintain certification/licensureEducation, Certification & Licensure RequirementsAssociate degree from an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant programSuccessful completion of the NBCOT certification examination for OTAs Current, unrestricted state licensure/certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)Experience & Preferred Skills Experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting preferred, but not required for new graduates Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and ability to follow treatment protocols established by the supervising OTEOE
