Key Responsibilities

• Maintain standards of nursing practice as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and Nursing's Social Policy Statement
• Actualize the vision, mission, and values of the organization through daily practice and performance measures
• Participate in performance improvement and research activities within the unit
• Maintain professional practice standards, clinical expertise, and demonstrate leadership skills
• Demonstrate core and unit-specific competencies based on the NICU patient population served

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Level III or higher NICU experience required
• Valid New York State License for Registered Professional Nurse and current registration or valid permit to practice as an RN in New York State
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Infection Control training required
• Effective English communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to use basic data entry and retrieval systems

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN degree preferred
• Specialty certification in NICU or related area preferred
