Underwriter

Join Starr, a global leader in commercial insurance. The Senior Underwriter (Primary Construction Wrap‑Ups) will oversee the growth and management of the Wrap‑Up book of business. Responsibilities Solicit and evaluate submissions for primary construction wrap‑up coverage. Conduct underwriting analysis and prepare indications, quotations, and binders. Market, mentor, and train staff, and develop and track a pipeline of business. Manage portfolio components, including budgeting, rate and loss tracking, and profitability. Maintain visibility in key markets through travel and cross‑marketing with other Starr products. Essential Job Functions Focus on new business production and account management. Drive accountability for underwriting production goals. Track and manage loss activity and rate movements within portfolio. Develop relationships with wholesale and retail brokers. Qualifications 3–4 years of construction underwriting experience, including Wrap‑Ups. Proven track record managing an insurance portfolio. Experience developing relationships with wholesale and retail brokers. Skills & Abilities Strong presentation, verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook. Compensation: $100,000–$125,000 per year (USD), depending on experience and qualifications for the New York location. Starr is an equal‑opportunity employer.
