Job Description Summary A Nursing Supervisor is a licensed professional who provides direct and indirect patient care services under a physician’s plan of care and in accordance with the policies and procedures of Option Care Health, state and federal regulatory standards, and national accreditation requirements. The Supervisor oversees complete patient assessment, care planning, education, and progress evaluation, while training and supervising staff. Clinical competency is maintained by providing direct patient care 20‑40% of the time, and the role may serve as alternate administrator or director of nursing in a Medicare‑certified Home Health agency. Job Responsibilities Competently manage home infusion patients, applying the Nursing Process and regulatory rules of federal, state, and local authorities overseeing Home Health Agency care. Demonstrate knowledge of documentation and billing requirements for home health and infusion services. Determine suitability of patients for home care. Supervise, monitor, and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of patient care, including field staff evaluations when appropriate. Review and monitor Nursing Care Plans, directing staff to modify plans as needed. Act as Administrator or Director of Nursing in the absence of a designated director in Medicare‑certified agencies. Manage daily operations, communications, compliance, reporting requirements, policy adherence, and medical supply usage. Report nursing operational and financial data to regional and area nursing leadership and support the development and implementation of patient Plans of Care. Develop, implement, evaluate, and participate in site‑specific continuing education and orientation programs; assist in recruitment, development, and monitoring of new staff. Coordinate on‑call responsibilities, maintain patient confidentiality, and participate in advisory committees, infection prevention, and process improvement teams. Identify improvement opportunities and communicate findings to leadership. Provide knowledge of Option Care’s service scope to sales professionals and support sales efforts. Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities (no hiring, promotions, scheduling, or performance reviews). Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements Registered Nurse with a state license, 1 year of nursing supervisory/charge experience, or at least 3 years of relevant nursing experience with demonstrated progression. Required CPR certification. Membership in a state or national professional organization. Basic Qualifications & Interests (BQIs) Reliable transportation for home visits, with valid driver’s license and proof of insurance if using a personal vehicle. Experience applying local, state, federal, accrediting body, and OSHA rules and regulations. Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, meeting quality standards and evaluating satisfaction. Experience in indirect management of team members, including development, training, and assignment of work to others. Skilled in time management, prioritization, organization, and tracking multiple projects with varying deadlines. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including document formatting, spreadsheet manipulation, and slide presentation. Ability to develop and accomplish goals with minimal supervision, escalating issues when necessary. Travel Requirements Willing to travel at least 50% of the time for business purposes, including in‑state and out‑of‑state travel. Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs) BSN degree. CRNI or other professional certification. At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a hospital or home health care setting. At least 1 year of experience in indirect management of team members, including development, training, and assignment of work. Salary and Pay Pay Range: $97,554.56 – $162,583.73, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity.
