Tenacity and the passion to learn are skills we value on our team, and if you want to impact millions of customers by working on the most advanced technology solutions, we want to talk to you Description As an Embedded Software Engineer working on vision platforms at Apple, you will be responsible for architecting, prototyping, and developing real-time software across the vision devices software stack. Responsibilities Architect and develop software solutions for complex system problems in next‑generation AR/VR products. Drive initiatives from problem identification through cross‑functional delivery. Discover high‑impact system bottlenecks and propose effective architectural solutions. Apply deep expertise in OS and silicon architecture to design and develop software optimized for power, latency and thermally constrained devices. Debug hard to reproduce system issues and propose solutions. Develop early prototype platforms and software solutions. Minimum Qualifications BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of relevant embedded software experience. Deep expertise in C/C++. Strong knowledge of operating system internals, silicon architecture, and embedded systems. Experience developing kernel drivers, embedded software, or system frameworks. Strong analytical and debugging skills with a track record of resolving software and hardware problems. Strong communication and collaboration skills across multi-disciplinary teams. Familiarity with Gen AI coding tools. Demonstrated ability to use them for design, code generation, and debugging. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience building low‑level systems software and frameworks. Proven track record of building software optimized for hardware constraints. Experience working on systems containing cameras, audio, displays, and latency‑sensitive workloads. Approaches complex problems with innovative, first‑principles thinking. Familiarity with Apple operating systems such as iOS, visionOS, or macOS. Experience leading technical initiatives in ambiguous problem spaces, from exploration through architectural definition. Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $324,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
