DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced commercial litigation attorney to join a legal team in Detroit, Michigan. This role is well suited for a practitioner who is confident managing contested matters, taking depositions, and handling motion practice in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings strong legal writing ability and a solid background in commercial litigation from case development through courtroom proceedings.Responsibilities:• Handle commercial litigation matters through all phases of the case, from initial assessment to resolution.• Conduct depositions, prepare witnesses, and develop testimony strategies that support overall case objectives.• Draft, review, and argue motions, briefs, and other court filings with precision and persuasive legal analysis.• Manage discovery efforts, including preparing requests, evaluating responses, and addressing disputes when necessary.• Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and other proceedings while effectively advocating for client interests.• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop case strategy, assess risk, and recommend practical legal solutions.Requirements• At least 3 years of experience practicing law, with substantial exposure to commercial or civil litigation matters.• Active license to practice law and good standing with the applicable bar.• Demonstrated experience taking depositions and supporting courtroom or hearing-related advocacy.• Strong background in drafting motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.• Working knowledge of discovery procedures and the ability to manage document and information exchange effectively.• Excellent legal writing, analysis, and communication skills.Job typePerm
