Salary: $16.00 - $20.00 Hourly Location : 3700 South Hwy 27, Clermont, FL Job Type: Part-Time Job Number: 01301 Department: Parks & Recreation Division: Parks Opening Date: 05/19/2026 Closing Date: Continuous General Description This position assists with maintaining and monitoring the City's recreational facilities and parks, ensuring a presence, assisting guests, coordinating recreational activities, completing routine office support duties, and working special events. This position works under direct supervision. T his position is non-exempt. Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provisions will apply. * Please note that this is a part-time position that is not eligible for benefits, and veteran's preference does not apply. Primary Duties Performs a variety of routine tasks that may include: answer telephone calls, perform receptionist duties, respond to emails, handle inquiries, register program applicants, collect funds, balance cash drawers, box office tasks, serve as a park attendant, set up calendars, tracking data, scheduling for events, design flyers, sell tickets, set-up/remove sports equipment, and provide exceptional customer service. May assist in set up for events such as stacking chairs, moving tables, sweeping, etc. Provides public information about park rules and regulations; and monitors related conformance. Performs regular maintenance duties to maintain a safe environment (e.g., onsite cleaning, cleaning & monitoring of bathrooms, trash removal, maintaining logs, signage, and minor repairs.) Enforces City and department rules, policies, and procedures with the general public. Inspects the grounds and surrounding areas; and reports conditions, hazards, or practices that may pose a threat to health and/or safety. Responds to emergencies in accordance with safety policy and procedures and completes incident reports as required. Treats minor accidents and completes all paperwork/documentation including incident reports. Assists in organizing, monitoring, and interacting with various recreation and athletic activities; participates in special events; and may assist with one or more of the following: Adult Softball League, Adult Basketball League, Clermont Arts and Recreation Center, Waterfront Park, Splash Park, or Box Office. May be required to manage and record accurate logs, such as score books, maintenance, intermediary financial transactions, and water reports. Maintains the health and safety of all users of the facilities and all employees. Receives inquiries, concerns, complaints and requests for assistance regarding areas of responsibility; and, when necessary, forwards information to the appropriate Parks & Recreation personnel. Wears appropriate attire or uniform for daily activities. Operates a small utility vehicle (e.g. gator/golf cart) or operates and carries a department cell phone and/or hand held radio depending on assigned area of responsibility. Follows daily schedules and assigned rotations. Works rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED. No experience required. However, able to organize, communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing), and follow detailed instructions. Prefer knowledge of recreation sports, scoring, and basic first aid. Current American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR and First Aid or comparable/higher level may be provided.) Valid Florida Driver's License. In some cases, an equivalent combination of higher education and experience may be considered, provided that the education and experience is in a relevant and related field. Essential Physical Functions & Environmental Conditions Physical Demands Continual light work. May be required to sit for long periods of time. Lifts 30 pounds without assistance. Moderate to frequent walking, standing, stooping, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, reaching, and pulling. Good finger/hand dexterity and hand/eye coordination. Good eyesight, hearing and speech. Regular driving of vehicle. Work Environment Works inside in an environmentally controlled space part of the time; and will also work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat/cold) for extended periods of time. Exposed to various elements including sunlight, bright/dim lights, dust/pollen, noise, and moving vehicles and machinery.
