Rehab Tech - Clinic setting

Position Overview:

• The Dickinson RehabVisions Outpatient clinic has been serving the community for 25 years. We are located on State Street, Dickinson, ND
• On call/as needed hours, approximately 10 - 20 hours per week
• Job starts in August 3rd
• Starting pay is $13 - $14/hour
• Rehab tech must have good customer service skills

The rehab technician (rehab tech) assists with patient/client transportation, equipment setup, and selected procedures in accordance with federal, state, and facility-specific regulations under the direct supervision of onsite occupational therapists (OTR), certified occupational therapy assistants (COTA), physical therapists (PT), physical therapy assistants (PTA), or speech-language pathologists (SLP). The role also involves administrative support, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the clinic, and various other duties as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Communication and Administration:
  • Answer phones and take messages professionally.
  • Greet patients, clients, family members, caregivers, and visitors warmly.
  • Assist with the completion of paperwork, including intake forms, medical history, medications, and insurance.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as copying, scanning, and filing.
  • Support front-office processes and appointment reminders.
• Patient and Therapist Support:
  • Follow directions from supervising therapists during patient mobility, transfers, ambulation, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and facility rules.
  • Maintain a service-oriented approach with all interactions.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and inventory monitoring.
• Department Maintenance:
  • Perform housekeeping tasks to keep the department clean.
  • Help reduce costs and improve productivity.
  • Foster positive relationships with the healthcare team, patients, and caregivers.
  • Adhere to safety, risk, and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience:
  
  
  • Must be at least 16 years old and maintain regular attendance.
• Language Skills:
  
  
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one settings.
• Reasoning Skills:
  
  
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions.
• Other Skills and Abilities:
  
  
  • Experience with data entry and accurate typing.
  • Ability to relate positively and professionally with others.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt for efficient operations.
  • Ability to perform job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Physical Demands

• Includes sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 70 pounds with or without assistance.
• Requires fine hand coordination, hearing, reading, writing, and stress management.
• Specific vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.

Work Environment

• Moderate noise levels.
• Potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids, especially in hospital and nursing home settings.
• Must be tolerant of patients recovering from surgeries, illnesses, and wounds.
