TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Oncology RN in Bismarck, North Dakota, 58501!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shifts, Every Other Weekend Hours per Shift: 48 hours guaranteed per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid Nursing License required Certifications: BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with tracheostomy care and BiPAP preferred, but not required. - Ability to titrate drips such as Lasix and Heparin. Description: The role involves working in a Medical Surgical/Oncology unit with a focus on adult and geriatric patients. Common diagnoses include strokes, hypertension, COPD, cellulitis, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and post-ICU care for myocardial infarction and cellulitis. There is an emphasis on providing quality oncology care, including chemotherapy administration. RNs will be expected to have experience with BiPAP and established tracheostomies while managing patients' oxygen needs. Nurses will have the support of a Charge Nurse on each shift, who may or may not have an assignment depending on staffing needs. Patient care techs will be available to assist, with ratios of 1:8. Nurses are not required to interpret cardiac strips, as there is a designated monitor tech for this purpose. Self-scheduling may be considered based on unit needs, with a requirement for weekend shifts every other week. Floating to other Med-Surg units may be required occasionally. The unit values teamwork and a supportive environment for travelers. RTO must be provided up front, with limitations on additional time off during the contract. The charting system in use is EPIC. This is a pediatric/hospital acute care setting with a trauma level of 2.
