Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:00 - 16:30 or 09:00 - 17:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS Chemo (ONS/ONCC) OCN (Preferred) ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate Must-Have: Experience with patient ratios of 1:6 Charting System experience required Description: Two years of experience or first-timers are welcome. The average daily census is 32 with 12 beds. The patient age group includes adults and geriatrics. Patient diagnoses include hematology, oncology, asthma, allergy, GI issues, rheumatology, MS, and more. Special procedures include port accessing and IV placement. The nursing environment requires skills in accessing and managing ports. Active management of chemotherapy and immunotherapy is essential. Knowledge of administration of blood products and chemotherapy is necessary. Candidates must be familiar with handling side effects and recognizing abnormal lab values. Care coordination and patient education are key responsibilities. Experience with advanced oncology skills like central line care, IV push administration, and managing neutropenic precautions is preferred. Staff will operate in an interdisciplinary support framework, assisting with rapid response, social services, and pharmacy collaborations. This position emphasizes providing quality care in a fast-paced oncology setting.
