About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 24 months of current Stepdown, Progressive Care, or Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting is required. Neuro/neurology care experience is required. Ortho/orthopedic care experience is required. Trauma care experience is highly preferred. Experience using/reading lift equipment, telemetry, chest tubes, and airvo is required. Experience administering heparin PCAs is required. Experience administering 3% sodium is preferred. ACLS certification is a nice to have. License: Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license is required. Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) is required. NIHSS certification is required. Must-Have: Experience in Stepdown, Progressive Care, or Medical Surgical nursing. Ability to float across various units as needed. Willingness to work 1-2 of the upcoming winter holidays. No first-time travelers accepted; must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 12 months. Description: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a Progressive Care Unit. The nurse will provide care for patients with diverse needs, including post-operative recovery and trauma care. The patient ratio will be approximately 1:5-6. The available position is for nights, working four 12-hour shifts per week, with the option for three shifts if preferred. The nurse will need experience in neuro, ortho, and trauma care, with proficiency in using necessary medical equipment. This role requires critical thinking skills and the ability to manage complex patient needs effectively.
