PATIENT TRANSPORTER (FULL AND PART TIME)

Job Summary We are hiring immediately for full‑time and part‑time PATIENT TRANSPORTER positions at Saint Alexius Medical Center, 1555 Barrington Road, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169. Online applications are accepted only. Schedule Full‑time and part‑time schedules; Monday through Friday with hours that may vary. Rotating weekends. Details are provided during interview. Responsibilities Safely and timely transport patients, medical equipment, and patient‑related items to their destinations. Use wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock in accordance with transportation protocols. Demonstrate competency in transporting patients of all age groups. Secure IVs, drainage tubes, and other medical items during transport. Communicate effectively with nursing staff, clinicians, technicians, and dispatch personnel. Ensure patient comfort by offering blankets, checking modesty, and maintaining appropriate conversation; never transport patients in severe pain. Alert nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction. Maintain equipment and report repairs or malfunctions. Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, and with the facility’s HIPAA policies and procedures. Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications Prior patient transporter experience preferred. High School Diploma required.
