Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team in Atlanta. The role involves performing blood collections using venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups. The successful candidate will ensure accurate labeling, specimen handling, and data maintenance while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, decontaminate, and update patient information.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests.
• Enter patient information accurately and timely.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain logs for patient and specimen information.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Complete administrative and clerical duties as necessary.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of recent phlebotomy experience, ideally 5 years, preferably in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy, blood draw, and venipuncture techniques.
• Experience drawing blood from 30+ patients daily.
• Experience using 21 gauge (straight needle) and 23 gauge (butterfly needle).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Work Environment

The position is based in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia. The role involves working Monday through Friday, alongside two other phlebotomists. You will be responsible for processing and drawing blood from a minimum of 30 patients per day, with a total of 75-100 patients. The environment is collaborative and fast-paced, requiring a strong focus on customer service and specimen handling.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
