Position: RN - Acute Surgery Unit (Med Surg)

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Acute Surgery Unit. This position offers a dynamic work environment focused on providing high-quality care to surgical patients.

Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour Nights (12x3)
• Schedule: Varied schedule, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Location: City, State

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a focus on surgical recovery.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while ensuring patient safety.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Medical-Surgical setting, with a focus on surgical patients.
• Current AHA BLS certification is required.

Unit Overview

The Acute Surgery Unit specializes in the care of patients undergoing General and Bariatric Surgery, with an emphasis on managing post-operative recovery. Typical cases include General Surgery, Colo-rectal Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, and Plastic Surgery.

Holiday Expectations

All candidates must be willing to work during the holiday season, which includes:

• Two major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day
• One minor holiday: The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve
