Long Term Care Nurse (LPN)The Long Term Care Nurse (LPN) provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to the ill, injured, convalescing, and disabled residents in all areas of Heritage of Webster County (WCCH). They coordinate total nursing care for the residents, participate in resident and care giver education, maintain standards for professional nursing practice, and provide leadership by working cooperatively with the health care team at Heritage of Webster County.This position complies with department and organization-wide policies, long-term care facility requirements, safety, and infection control, and all Federal and State of Nebraska regulations related to the performance of Heritage of Webster County operations and requirements of the compliance program.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelops, coordinates, and implements comprehensive resident care plans with medical and clinical staff.Administers medications, performs vital sign checks and medical procedures, and provides therapeutic treatments such as range-of-motion exercises and massage.Operates medical equipment, monitors and assesses resident status, and records resident information in medical records.Assists residents with daily tasks such as bathing and dressing.Communicates changes in resident behavior or health status to supervisors and family members.Offers education, emotional support, and guidance for residents, families, and caregivers.Builds long-term relationships with residents and caregivers.Possesses strong observation and assessment skills, and patience working in stressful conditions.RequirementsSupports mission, vision, values, ethics, and goals of Heritage of Webster County.Pledges sincere commitment to quality care and a quest for excellence.Maintains confidentiality for the people we serve and to fellow employees by following HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules at all times.Possesses ability to come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates professionalism, dependability, and organization.Adheres to the team approach and works well with fellow employees.Maintains accountability and responsibility for job performance and seeks ways to improve.Demonstrates punctuality and efficient use of time.Shows respect, politeness, consideration, and sympathy to residents, visitors, and fellow employees.Demonstrates good public relations by expressing to the public and fellow employees the desire for continuous quality improvement.Maintains a professional appearance of self and work area.Attends interdepartmental meetings and other meetings as position requires.Attends educational events that are required or would be beneficial to the wellbeing of the department and/or nursing home.Performs other duties as assigned.Utilizes proper body mechanics, transfer/lifting techniques and appropriate equipment to minimize fall risk to resident and injury to self.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEDegree from accredited nursing programExperience in long-term care setting is preferred but not required.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONCurrent Licensed Practical Nurse License from the State of NebraskaCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.BENEFITSFull-time hires are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including health/dental/vision insurance, retirement plan, paid time off and more.
