Emergency Department Technician (Per Diem)

A recognized healthcare network in Central New York is actively seeking a new Emergency Department Technician for a great Per Diem opportunity at one of their facilities in Hamilton County. In this role, the Emergency Department Technician will be responsible for assisting the RN and Physicians in providing high-quality healthcare to patients who are sick and injured.

• Schedule: Sept 15th to Sept 17th and Oct 27 to Oct 29 and Nov 3 to Nov 5
• Hours: 11am to 7pm

• Obtain consent forms (e-script, RHIO, portal and treatments)
• Assist physicians and nurses, as required
• Placement of patient in room and gowning as needed
• Weigh all patients on the way to the room
• Clean stretchers after patients leave
• Take vital signs
• Stock rooms, IV trays, lab supplies, gloves, bathrooms, and oxygen supplies
• Compile charts and ensure adequate stock of necessary forms
• Sitter duty as assigned for suicidal, confused, or intoxicated patients
• Order supplies and put them away when they arrive
• Fall precautions including purposeful hourly rounding
• Ensure patients have call bells within reach
• Ensure privacy by closing doors and curtains as appropriate
• Report all concerns about a patient to the nurse or provider in charge
• Perform other duties as assigned

• 6+ months of related work experience
• High School Diploma / GED
• BLS certification

• 1+ year of Emergency Room experience
• Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
