The Purpose of the Mural Painter is to:

• Collaborate with our experienced paint team to execute hand-painted murals from our home base in NYC.
• Share your skills and knowledge to help train up-and-coming painters.
• Represent Colossal Media with professionalism on every wall, job site, and client interaction.

A Day in the Life: The Mural Painter position works within our paint team to execute walls from either a home base in NYC. Painting, prepping job sites, coating out, blending, mixing, applying, and cleaning of wall spaces. Understand and execute measuring protocols, job site organization, packing and shipping of gear, pattern training, pouncing, artwork acetate, and rigging support, amongst others Product application as it applies to Graphic, Complex Graphic, Non-Organic, Complex Non-Organic, Organic, and Complex Organic creative Responsible for troubleshooting in the field and on job sites Responsible for safely working with a team. Ability to teach and support in workshops/non-media training when applicable. Represent Colossal in a confident and professional manner. Be on-site and/or on-call during scheduled times, this may include working nights/weekends. Appropriately document all services performed: Slack channels, bulletins, job communications (including feedback on team members and job operations), and daily communications. Drive company vehicles. Operating Boom and Scissor Lifts. Adhere to our social media policy. Consent to the participation of interviews, the use of quotes, the taking of photographs, and video recordings while on-site or at the shop.

Education and Experience Requirements: Valid driver's license and driving experience required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Successful completion of OSHA 30-Hour Construction course is required. Previous experience working at heights above ground level is preferred, but not required. 3+ years of out-of-home painting experience preferred. Extensive experience working with bulletin enamels medium and brushes. Physical Demands and Work Environment: The primary work environment for this position is outdoors, requiring the ability to work in adverse weather conditions and climb to heights over 200 ft. The physical demands for this position include heavy lifting (up to 100 pounds), extensive bending, pushing, reaching, seeing (with a focus on reading, color distinction, acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision), sitting less than 50% of the time, standing, stooping, talking, turning, walking, driving, and climbing. Nights spent away from home traveling are no less than 25% of the time. On-call shifts may be required.
