Join our team and let us work together to offer a welcoming, inclusive environment for our patients and the communities we serve.Supervisor: Ophthalmology SupervisorHours per week: 40hrs/Non-Exempt (Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm) There is a possibility of traveling between clinicsDepartment: OphthalmologyHiring Bonus: $1,000 after 90 daysPay Range: Non-Certified Ophthalmic Tech $21.63 - $29.29 Certified Ophthalmic Tech $24.04 - $32.54Primary FunctionTo assist the Ophthalmologists in providing extended technical services to patients.Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)Escort patients to the exam room, take basic histories and make chart documentation, perform visual acuities (auto and manual), review patient medications, measure glasses, and conduct lensometry.Perform ophthalmic procedures such as refractometry, tonometry, pupil/angle evaluation, muscle/strabismus screening, keratometry, topography, and pachymetry.Perform various ophthalmic tests including: visual field testing, color vision testing, stereopsis, amsler grid testing.Clean and maintain equipment: projectors, slit lamps, visual field, topographer, auto refractor, tonometer, lensometer.Order appropriate ophthalmic supplies, drops, surgery equipment, and medications using proper ordering procedure. Maintain inventory and stock supplies.Perform pre and post cataract surgery exams. Have basic understanding and knowledge of procedure to answer patient questions.Perform pre and post Lasik work up exams.
