Software Engineer (Junior)

Position: Software Engineer (Junior)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 40 hours/week, M-F 8-5 PT
Terms/Duration: 3-6 month CTH
Worksite Location: Hybrid, in-office Tuesday - Thursday
Worksite Location: 6430 Oak Canyon, Suite 100, Irvine, California
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy web applications, AI-driven services and agentic pipelines (tool-use loops, multi-step agents, orchestration)
- Build and maintain integrations with Anthropic API/SDK (Claude models, tool use, prompt caching, streaming)
- Write, iterate, and evaluate prompts for reliability, safety, and cost efficiency
- Develop RESTful APIs (Python) and React/TypeScript front ends around AI features
- Own DevOps for AI services: CI/CD, containerization (Docker), cloud deploy (AWS/Azure), monitoring/observability for agent runs
- Write optimized SQL against relational DBs
- Design automated test frameworks for both deterministic code and non-deterministic AI outputs (eval harnesses, regression suites)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams and translate business needs into AI-backed technical solutions
- Maintain technical docs (architecture, prompt design decisions, agent behavior/limits)
Most important top skills/experience:
- Minimum 2 years of professional software engineering experience
- Minimum 2 years of Python experience with Flask or Django
- Hands-on experience with the Anthropic SDK/API and Claude Console - this is a core requirement , so please screen specifically for Claude/Anthropic experience rather than general LLM or ChatGPT familiarity
- Strong RESTful API development experience
- Proficiency with SQL and relational databases
- Demonstrated experience building and debugging agentic workflows (tool-use loops, multi-step agents)
