D365 F&O Functional Consultant (Contract - Fully Remote) - Job Ref: 26056

Our consultancy client is looking for a seasoned Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Functional Consultant who can step straight into an active programme and drive meaningful progress across finance transformation workstreams.

This contract suits someone who has operated as a Functional Consultant or Business Analyst within D365 F&O and has a strong track record delivering multi-ERP finance transformation projects .

The ideal consultant will bring deep functional knowledge, hands-on configuration experience, and the ability to translate complex finance requirements into scalable D365 F&O solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead functional delivery across D365 F&O Finance modules (GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash & Bank, Project Accounting, etc.).
• Conduct requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, and solution design workshops with Finance stakeholders.
• Translate business processes into functional specifications and configuration tasks.
• Support end-to-end implementation activities including testing cycles, UAT, data migration validation, and cutover readiness.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure functional requirements are accurately developed and deployed.
• Provide guidance on best-practice finance processes and ERP transformation approaches.
• Produce documentation including functional designs, process flows, training materials, and configuration guides.
• Act as a trusted advisor to Finance leadership throughout the transformation lifecycle.
• Support hypercare and post-go-live optimisation.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Proven experience as a D365 F&O Functional Consultant or Analyst , specifically within Finance modules.
• Strong background in ERP finance transformation programmes , ideally across multiple implementations.
• Solid understanding of core finance processes (O2C, P2P, R2R, FP&A, financial reporting).
• Hands-on experience with D365 F&O configuration, functional design, and solution validation.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including technical developers, programme managers, and finance SMEs.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience with legacy ERP migration to D365 F&O.
• Exposure to global finance transformation programmes.
• Knowledge of Power Platform, Azure DevOps, or complementary Microsoft technologies.
• Professional certifications in Dynamics or project delivery (e.g., MB-300, PMP, Agile).
