RN - Med/Surg/Telemetry - Part Time - Nights

Job Overview Registered nurses (RN) play a key leadership role in patient care, utilizing the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. RNs delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members, assume accountability for quality patient outcomes, demonstrate cultural sensitivity, and uphold professional responsibility. Responsibilities Effectively use the Nursing Process in the delivery of patient care. Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patients, families, and other groups or disciplines. Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources—human and fiscal—properly and serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team. Utilize data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes. Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improve the profession of nursing. Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, method of introduction, adapting explanations of services or procedures, requesting permissions, and communication style. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information. Have effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to the role, and keyboard. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. Have good organizational skills. Have good time‑management skills and be self‑directed. Demonstrate good judgment. Education Registered Nurse Diploma required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. Work Experience None required. Certifications Current RN license in the state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred certification in a clinical specialty area. Physical and Environmental Demands This role requires physical exertion, including lifting 50–100 pounds occasionally, 25–50 pounds frequently, and 10–20 pounds continuously. The job typically involves walking or standing for significant periods, as well as pushing, pulling, and moving body fluids, specimens, and potentially hazardous medication. Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, and communicable diseases is part of the routine patient care environment, and there is an occupational risk for hazardous medications or waste.
