\nPosition Requirements\n

• Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
\n
• Licensed in the State of Tennessee.
\n
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
\n
• For 3rd floor telemetry unit: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
\n
• For 3rd floor telemetry unit: ACLS within 6 months of hire
\n
• For float pool and float pool extended: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
\n
• For float pool and float pool extended: ACLS within 6 months of hire
\n
• For float pool and float pool extended: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
\n
• For critical care: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
\n
• For critical care: ACLS within 6 months of hire
\n
• For critical care: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
\n
• For critical care: AACN, CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire
\n
• For Oncology: ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire
\n
• For Adult Emergency Room: At least one year of emergency experience preferred
\n
• For Adult Emergency Room: TNCC Preferred
\n
• For Adult Emergency Room: ACLS within 6 months of hire
\n
• For Adult Emergency Room: PALS within 6 months of hire
\n
• For Adult Emergency Room: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
\n
• For Pediatric Medical Surgical: At least one year of pediatric in-hospital experience preferred.
\n
• For Pediatric Medical Surgical: PALS within 6 months of hire.
\n
• For Pediatric Medical Surgical: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification (8-hour, non-physical training) within 6 months of hire
\n
• For Pediatric Emergency Room: At least one year of pediatric emergency experience preferred
\n
• For Pediatric Emergency Room: PALS within 6 months of hire.
\n
• For Pediatric Emergency Room: ACLS within 6 months of hire
\n
• For Pediatric Emergency Room: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification (8-hour, non-physical training) within 6 months of hire

• For Pediatric Emergency Room: ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire

• Standard patient care equipment for services provided. The ability to work well under pressure, to function dependently and independently and to be flexible in applying basic nursing knowledge to a variety of setting. Equipment: Network Computer System; Omnicell Medication System; Telemetry; Pneumatic Tube System; AT&T Language Line.

• ___ Adult medical/surgical unit with patient population ranging from adolescent to > 99 years of age
\n
• ___ Pediatric medical/surgical unit with patient population ranging from neonate to 21 years of age
\n
• ___ Critical Care unit with patient population ranging from adolescent to > 99 years of age
\n
• ___ Oncology unit with adult patient population
\n
• ___ Adult emergency department with patient population ranging from less than one year of age to > 99 years of age
\n
• ___ Pediatric emergency department with patient population ranging from neonate to 21 years of age.
\n
• Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly.
\n
• Requires prolonged standing and working for up to twelve hours a day
\n
• Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day.
\n
• Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs.
\n

\nKey Results\n

\n
• Performs a comprehensive assessment on all patients within the appropriate time of admission utilizing skills of observation, communication and examination; including data obtained from patient, family and other members of the healthcare team.
\n
• Plans the patient's care on an individual basis, identifying problems/needs, nursing diagnosis, standards of care/practice, interventions consistent with identified problems and attainable outcomes.
\n
• Plans for patient teaching, discharge and post discharge needs as appropriate for patient population.
\n
• Functions independently with treatments, procedures and equipment appropriate to areas evidence by adherence to policy, procedure and competency based assessment and no pattern or trend of problem.
\n
• Handles/transports/stores/prepares/administers medications/ solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
\n
• Documents accurately and timely.
\n
• Reassess patient's condition, evaluate patient response and modify plan of care accordingly and in a timely manner.
\n
• Accepts charge responsibilities and assigns staff with consideration of patient condition and care requirement, acuity and complexity of patient's condition. Facilitates staff development
\n
• Maintains healing and therapeutic environment for the patient and family.
\n
• Maintains position specific qualifications.
\n
• Demonstrates responsibility for assigned communications and special assignments.
\n
