Electrical Assembler

The Electrical Assembler installs, wires, and assembles electrical panels and power distribution boxes in accordance with approved workmanship standards. This role focuses heavily on panel wiring, layout of components in various cabinet sizes, and interpreting technical documentation to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient assembly.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, terminate, and wire electrical panels and electrical boxes using specified tooling and approved workmanship standards.
• Perform point-to-point wiring on a variety of electrical panels and power distribution electrical boxes using company-supplied hand tools such as crimpers and wire cutters.
• Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports to determine material requirements and assembly instructions.
• Position, align, and adjust workpieces and electrical components to facilitate accurate wiring and assembly.
• Install completed electrical assemblies into enclosures and ensure all components are securely mounted and properly connected.
• Lay out components in various sizes of cabinets to optimize space, accessibility, and compliance with design specifications.
• Verify wiring connections and panel layouts against schematics and blueprints to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety practices while using hand tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with team members and leads to resolve assembly or wiring issues and support continuous improvement in production processes.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of electrical panel assembly experience.
• At least 1 year of electrical wiring experience, with a strong focus on panel wiring.
• At least 1 year of experience reading and interpreting wiring schematics.
• At least 1 year of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Proficiency in using hand tools such as crimpers, wire cutters, and other basic electrical assembly tools.
• Ability to follow schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, and work orders accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting workmanship standards.
• Ability to position, align, and adjust electrical parts and assemblies precisely.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Comfort working with power distribution electrical boxes and various cabinet sizes.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting wiring and assembly issues.
• Good organizational skills to manage materials, tools, and documentation effectively.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, well-lit facility that supports electrical panel and box assembly. While the environment is not temperature controlled, large garage doors and industrial fans help circulate air effectively. The standard schedule is a first-shift workday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with overtime hours currently available on Fridays. The dress code includes jeans or cargo pants, a T-shirt, and steel-toed shoes for safety. The setting combines production efficiency with a focus on maintaining an organized and safe workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shoreview, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
