Registered Nurse - PreOp

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized pre-operative nursing care to patients scheduled for surgery, ensuring safety, comfort, and preparedness. Collaborate with surgical teams to facilitate smooth patient flow and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Assess patients' medical histories and readiness for surgery.
Administer medications and pre-operative interventions as prescribed.
Educate patients and their families about pre-operative procedures and expectations.
Coordinate with surgical teams to ensure timely patient preparation.
Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes in condition promptly.
Document patient care activities accurately in medical records.

Qualifications:

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Minimum of 1 year of recent PACU or pre-op nursing experience.
Strong knowledge of surgical protocols, sterile techniques, and patient assessment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Excellent communication and patient education skills.
Flexibility to work variable schedules including weekends and holidays.
