Yard/Shuttle CDL Driver - Betco

Job TitleOperate a tractor-trailer combination or truck with a trailer capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). May be required to assist with unloading trucks.ResponsibilitiesOperate a yard truck equipped with a hydraulic fifth wheel to move trailers and equipment within the yard and to nearby offsite locationsObey all traffic laws and follow established transportation and safety proceduresInventory and inspect goods to verify quantities and condition prior to movementPosition trailers accurately at dock doors to support efficient loading and unloading operationsPerform daily safety inspections of yard truck and related equipment; report defects or issues promptly to managementAssist with loading and unloading trailers using manual methods or powered equipment (e.g., propane forklift) as requiredMaintain an organized yard by conducting routine checks of empty and loaded trailers to ensure proper placement and visibilityReceive and offload inbound coil trucks for production while maintaining a clean and structured staging areaCommunicate effectively with yard personnel, shipping, receiving, and management to ensure safe and coordinated operationsSupport shipping and receiving functions and perform additional operational duties as neededQualificationsJob SpecificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Class A CDL license requiredCurrent Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required and must meet company driving standardsOne to three years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of training and experienceRegularly required to sit and operate a yard truck for extended periodsMust be able to safely operate powered industrial equipment (e.g., forklift)Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditionsProficient in the use of RF scanning equipmentStrong attention to detail with a commitment to safety proceduresPhysical DemandsMust be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 poundsRegularly required to walk, stand, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workdayMust be able to perform tasks in a physically active environment, including climbing in and out of equipment as neededReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the positionAbility to communicate effectively with team members and management
