Exercise Physiologist

The Exercise Physiologist utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. Maintains a safe therapeutic environment. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital's mission and vision statement. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in cardiac rehab/healthy heart. Job Summary And Qualifications The Exercise Physiologist will be responsible for the exercise programs for all cardiac and pulmonary patients. This will be accomplished through the input of physicians and staff. This exercise design includes implementation, evaluation, monitoring and teaching. This will be accomplished by being part of the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation team. Perform exit interviews and assists in discharge planning of patients. What you will do in this role: In this role, you will demonstrate the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the competency validation checklist(s). You will demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs. Your role ensures the privacy of our patients and confidentiality of their Protected Health Information (PHI). You will assess patients/families ability to learn and incorporate teaching throughout attendance in program and in preparation for discharge. Your role demonstrates critical thinking skills. You will promote customer service initiatives. Your role will promote and exhibit teamwork. You will complete mandatory education. You will comply with hospital policies/procedures and patient safety initiatives. The facility includes a state of the art neurosurgery program. Patients also have access to OB-GYN services. Patients have access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
