The candidate is expected to have the necessary background and be responsible for all the tasks related to catalytic conversion of cellulosic biomass to Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) research.***This position is funded by a grant or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant or restricted funding.******The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.*****Responsibilities:*** Synthesis and characterization of catalysts and testing catalysts for the conversion of cellulosic biomass to hydrocarbon biocrude oils and biofuels.* Develop proposals for funding, write journal articles and supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students with research projects.* Identify appropriate standard techniques for research and maintain detailed records of data for all the work done in the Center.* Install, operate, maintain, and repair, as needed, the computers, software, and research equipment.* Participate in the Center's educational and outreach activities, including workshops and seminars* Assist with all the necessary reports and cataloging of records and other related tasks.* Conduct a comprehensive literature review on the topics related to aviation fuels from biomass and other feedstocks and other research areas as needed.* Perform other duties as needed to assist the center director and the research team.**Required Education and Experience:*** Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field.* No prior experience required.**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*** Knowledge of laboratory chemical synthesis and use of chemical analysis instruments.* Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.**Preferred Qualifications:*** Experiences in use IR, UV-Vis, GC-MS, HPLC and NMR instruments.* Experiences in use of OriginLab Graphing & Analysis software.**Job Posting Close Date:*** Until Filled**Required Attachments:**Please attach all required documents listed below in the attachment box labeled as either “Resume/CV or Resume/Cover Letter” on the application.
