Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with Labor and Delivery and Pediatric experience for a night shift position requiring NRP, ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within a 122-bed facility
• Respiratory Therapy department providing care across adult and geriatric patient populations
• Experience with Labor and Delivery and Pediatric patients required
• Night shift schedule, 3x12s, 1830-0700
• Rotating weekends required

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program
• NBRC-RRT credential required (NBRC-CRT accepted)
• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license preferred, required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required at hire or within 90 days
• ACLS certification required at hire or within 90 days
• PALS certification required at hire or within 90 days
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty, with recent experience within the last 3 months
• Cerner and EPIC experience, if applicable, should be noted in employment history

Additional Information

• Assesses and documents appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy for patients
• Administers aerosol and oxygen therapy and maintains related charting
• Draws arterial blood gases per policy and physician order
• Provides care to ventilator patients and performs drainage procedures
• Assists in department recordkeeping, training, and supervision of new employees
• Instructs nursing personnel on patient and equipment surveillance after initial installation
• Provides input on patient treatment and pulmonary progress
• Works both independently and in a supervisory capacity as delegated
• Position represented by SEIU
