Job Title: Material Handler ($19/hr)

Job Description

The Material Handler supports warehouse operations by safely moving materials throughout the facility and ensuring products are accurately received, stored, and shipped. This contract role offers consistent weekday hours with the potential to transition to a direct hire position after the initial assignment period.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks using a forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
• Receive and process incoming materials and customer products, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Move materials to designated warehouse locations according to inventory and production needs.
• Utilize an ERP system to record and track inventory transactions.
• Pick, pack, label, and prepare customer orders for shipment according to order specifications.
• Verify counts, weights, and measurements of incoming and outgoing products to ensure accuracy.
• Perform inventory transactions and assist with cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Operate RF scanners and material handling equipment to support daily warehouse activities.
• Stretch wrap, band, and stage shipments for loading and dispatch.
• Conduct quality checks to confirm shipments meet customer requirements and company standards.
• Follow lean manufacturing and 6S practices to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while working in the warehouse and outdoor areas.

Essential Skills

• Previous forklift operating experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Experience using an ERP system such as SAP, Epicor, Oracle, or a comparable platform.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Strong basic computer skills to operate ERP systems and RF scanners.
• High attention to detail when verifying counts, weights, and measurements.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday within standard daytime warehouse shifts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in shipping and receiving operations.
• Familiarity with RF scanners and material handling equipment.
• Exposure to lean manufacturing principles and 6S workplace organization.
• Comfort working in a large-scale warehouse environment.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors while handling materials.

Work Environment

This role is based in a clean, temperature-controlled, large-scale warehouse facility that emphasizes safety and organization. The work is performed primarily indoors, with some exposure to outdoor elements when handling materials or shipments outside. You will use forklifts, RF scanners, ERP systems such as SAP or Epicor, and other standard material handling equipment. The schedule is Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with typical shifts in Solon running approximately 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM depending on department needs, and shifts in the Cleveland location running approximately 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The environment supports lean manufacturing and 6S practices, and dress is practical warehouse attire suitable for operating equipment and working in both indoor and outdoor areas.

This is a Contract position based out of Solon, OH.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
