Assistant Football Coach

Position Specifics The Assistant Coach for diving will assist with all aspects of the recruiting process, mentor student‑athletes in athletic, academic, emotional, and social growth, gather and present scouting materials, assist with film exchange, plan practice and skill development, manage team travel and equipment, organize sport camps, coordinate visiting team requests, maintain statistical information, supervise student managers and ancillary personnel, support community service initiatives, represent the Head Coach at events when required, and perform fundraising and media response duties, all while adhering to university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Coordinate recruitment and retention of prospective student athletes, including evaluation, selection, off‑campus and on‑campus visits, and communication. Assist the Head Coach in establishing and enforcing rules of conduct and team policies. Gather, prepare, and present scouting materials. Assist with organization and planning for home events, practice planning, skill development, and game‑day strategy. Assist with organization and planning of team travel and inventory management of equipment. Assist with planning, organization, execution, and staffing of sport camps. Coordinate visiting team requests, including practice, hotel accommodations, meals, etc. Assist with former athlete and alumni relations. Assist with the compilation and maintenance of statistical information. Supervise student managers, volunteer coaches, undergraduate coaches and other ancillary personnel as needed. Represent Head Coach at intercollegiate athletics, alumni, and university events. Support booster clubs, team and athletic fundraising efforts. Handle media requests and comply with university, conference, and NCAA regulations. Commitment to comply fully with the mission statements of the University and Department, including Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics vision to prepare students for a lifetime of impact is required. Requires two years of Division1 related coaching experience. Minimum Education, Work Experience & Required Certifications Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience).No specific certifications required. Background Checks/Clearances Position requires PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background Check, credit history check, motor vehicle records check, and a valid driver’s license. Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check is also required. Salary & Benefits Salary structure follows Penn State’s pay grades.
