Pipefitter Foreman – Odessa, TX MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) operates a $2 billion annual revenue business unit that delivers construction services for industrial facilities, power generation, renewable energy plants, buildings, and infrastructure. Within CE&I, the MasTec Industrial sector includes Casey Industrial, Phoenix Industrial, and Wanzek Industrial. The team is a merit‑shop, multi‑craft industrial contractor capable of self‑performing all major craft trades, ensuring safer, higher quality, and more economical project delivery. Position Summary Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of crew workers to build rotors, erect base and mid‑sections, assemble full turbines, and offload turbine components while meeting production schedule timelines. Responsibilities Interpret specifications and blueprints to plan crew layout. Preplan daily activities and ensure crew productivity to meet job schedules. Monitor quality control of work performed by craft workers. Order and coordinate delivery of necessary materials. Comply with documentation requirements and complete project‑related reports such as daily reports, safety reports, ESRs, inspection reports, etc. Coordinate equipment needs, verify operator qualifications, and ensure timely maintenance and repairs. Support the jobsite superintendent in coordinating project activities. Perform related trade work as required. Travel to different job sites on limited notice. Implement better production methods to strengthen best practices. Other duties as assigned. Monitor crew installation for quality issues and work areas for quality completion. Look for ways to improve safety, quality, and productivity. Promote and comply with all company safety policies and procedures. Train and instruct crew members in safe work practices. Audit safe work practices and enforce proper PPE usage. Assist human resources and superintendent by interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance, and addressing employee complaints. Directly supervise and coordinate daily activities of craft workers. Complete ESRs for all employees with changes in job status. Conduct regular performance reviews of crewmen. Manage up to six or more employees and lead men. Train and mentor new workers. Manage, lead direct reports, and mentor. Qualifications Four years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. High school diploma or GED certification (preferred). Two years of supervisory experience. Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project‑specific regulations. Active participation in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors when on site. Set a personal example of safe behavior. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Perform arithmetic operations with two‑digit numbers, multiplications and divisions by tens and hundreds, and apply units of weight and volume. Use common sense to follow written or oral instructions. Work within precise standards of accuracy and follow procedures. Maintain strong relationships with team members and supervisors. Work up to a 12‑hour shift in varying temperatures and conditions. Maintain physical strength and stamina, lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks requiring stooping, kneeling, balancing, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Operate safely in uncontrolled environmental conditions, including weather changes and site hazards. Wear personal protective equipment such as safety‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, and vest. Use of visual, hearing, and hand‑eye coordination skills to assess detailed drawings and perform tasks at heights. Work typical full‑time hours (up to 50 hours per week) with schedules subject to project requirements. Travel up to 90% of the time; present on the project site with intermittent travel to residence of record. Benefits Competitive hourly rate of $37 per hour, commensurate with experience.
