Senior Quality Engineer, Data Platform

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks across data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, REST APIs, and backend services.
• Validate data integrity, schema correctness, transformation accuracy, financial aggregations, referential integrity, and cross-system reconciliation.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and reliability gaps in data-intensive workflows and customer environments.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with reporting and alerting.
• Develop test data management strategies, including synthetic financial data generation and environment seeding.
• Collaborate on release validation, defect triage, and root cause analysis for data discrepancies.
• Mentor junior quality engineering engineers and promote a data-quality-first testing culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of QA automation experience, including at least 2+ years testing data pipelines, data warehouses, or data-intensive backend services.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Jest, Mocha, Playwright, and Cypress.
• Hands-on SQL and data-validation experience, including complex queries for transformation, aggregation, and financial accuracy checks.
• Experience testing Snowflake, Redshift, or similar cloud data warehouses.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT, data ingestion, transformation, schema evolution, and data lineage.
• Experience with REST API testing and backend service validation.
• Proficiency with GitHub Actions and Git.
• Strong debugging skills for tracing discrepancies from the UI through APIs, pipelines, and raw data stores.
• Prior ERP exposure, familiarity with financial accounting concepts, observability or data-monitoring experience, and SaaS or cloud-native background are preferred.
