CNC Operator III - Entry-US

CNC Operator III Location: LaVergne, TN Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7AM - 3PM Job Summary and Mission Run multiple 5-6 axis end form grinding machines. Key Job Responsibilities Set up and operate a multitude of CNC 4 and 5 axis end form grinders which may include the following machines: EWAG Compact, Linear, or Haas. Orient inserts before grinding. Load and off‑load inserts from multiple grinding machines. Gage inserts to insure proper dimensions. Scope inserts to verify visual characteristics. Pull samples and record inspection results on route cart. Place inserts into appropriate racks before and after grinding. Separate scrap from good inserts document accurately. Scan correct production information. Maintain tooling used in machines, resurfacing as needed. Operate other equipment as needed. Train new operators when required. Operators required to troubleshoot moderate to complex problems. Adjust unique grinding programs to dial in cycles. Key Job Accountabilities Commitment to working safely and understanding all safety procedures. Deviations in routine are handled according to operating procedures and/or work instructions. Operator is responsible for following inspection control plan, assuring product is processed according to proper routings, specifications and that the quantity and style are correct. Work to meet daily departmental production goals. Must be reliable and dependable. Communicate safety, quality, product issues with supervisor, team members and across shifts. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Temperature-controlled manufacturing environment equipped with dust collection systems. Required PPE includes safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes, and gloves (cut-resistant gloves when applicable). Physical Demands Ability to stand for approximately eight hours per shift, with two scheduled breaks. Intermittent walking, reaching, bending, and sitting throughout the shift. Must be able to lift and move trays weighing up to 33 pounds. Problem Solving Run orders by due date. Follow control plan assignments and instructions communicated orally and carried out by standing guidelines. Must inspect and modify tooling as required. Moderate to complex problems solved by operator using learned knowledge of insert style, production processes and in some cases, coordination with technical experts inside and outside of the plant.
